Barker Street, in collaboration with Design CoLab and the Trend Group, recently completed a transformative project that has set a new standard for office seating comfort and aesthetics, in which 270 Cosm chairs from Herman Miller were installed in the South African offices of a prominent global company.

Eleven years in the making, the new home of the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform & Rural Development (DALRRD) in South Africa’s capital city, Pretoria, adds a glittering landmark to the city’s and South Africa’s tradition of civic architecture.

The client had previously occupied a large building to house 700 staff working at the global leader in the financial services industry. However, electing to relocate to a smaller office in Sandton accommodating 500 staff necessitated an office design which was more efficient and space effective.
